Transitions

As children grow, the management of Carriage House plan children’s transitions to the next classroom based on developmental readiness, age and availability. We strive to work with parents in the process and are ready to address any questions. Children will gradually spend time in their new classroom to prepare for their permanent move. We will all work together to make the transition as smooth for the child and parent as possible.

Toddlers must be potty trained before moving to the Preschool classroom. If by the age of three your child is not potty trained, he/she would remain in the toddler room and continue to be charged at the toddler tuition rate. Staff are willing to assist parents with potty training and hope to work together to prepare the child for the preschool experience.

As part of the transition experience, classroom staff have prepared a welcome packet that contains information regarding the teacher, specific needs and activities. Parents are also encouraged to visit their child’s new classroom during the transition process. This will help you to get to know your child(ren)’s new teachers as well.
